Freya started at Hey Sonny media in 2011. Freya joined us as a Researcher working on CBBC’s The Racing Set, Newsround and various films for BBC Inside Out before moving up to her current role as Producer/ Director and is now one of the Company Directors.
Freya works across production and development and has contributed to the development of some of Hey Sonny’s key commissions including an hour long documentary for BBC Three’s disability season and several documentaries for CBBC’s prestigious My Life series and an hour long documentary for Channel 5’s Extraordinary People strand as well as out latest Channel 5 series.
As well as television production, Freya has an interest in radio production and was a core member of the team for our Radio Academy Award winning Radio 1 documentary, Tempted by Teacher.
A keen shooter, Freya has filmed many of our CBBC commissions as well as DV Directing The Boy With No Brain for Channel and our last three CBBC commissions.
Freya has just finished Producing and Directing our latest CBBC My Life: If I go Blind which was shortlisted for a BAFTA and was one of our Producer/Directors on Channel’s 5 House of Extraordinary People series. Freya is currently directing our latest My Life with Holly.
Freya was chosen as one of The Edinburgh International TV Festival’s Ones to Watch in 2015 and was awarded Mentor Of The Year.
Now that Hey Sonny has a Sheffield base, Freya keeps things ticking over in London.
